A self-taught artist from the Philippines, Renn Jumawan creates art that seeks the holy and sacred within humanity. Deeply shaped by his Catholic upbringing, Filipino heritage, and queer identity, his works blend together religious, folk, and mythical imagery with themes relating to queer and human experiences. Renn’s works carrying an underlying message: we are all both human and divine, and to embrace our humanity – our emotions, desires, and vulnerability – is to recognize our own, innate divinity.
